Hey youngins! Glad to see you back!
Today, we are going to start a new lesson. We will be talking about what God says about us and what He says we are in Him. So, let’s jump in to it!
–>God says we are CHOSEN.
“You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.” -John 15:16
–>God chose US. It is because He chose us, that we are fruitful [producing good and useful results] and will remain so. All we need to do is continue to seek Him, walking in obedience and living in agreement with His will for us.
–>God says we are HIS CHILDREN.
“And if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory.” -Romans 8:17
–>God is the giver of life. Therefore, because He breathed life into us, we are His children. That is our inheritance from the most high. We are ALL born His babies, however, it is up to us to live a life that is pleasing to Him, so that one day we will also be reunited with Him [in heaven].
–>God says we are FORGIVEN.
“If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].” -1 John 1:9
–>God knows we are sinners! He knows that we will make mistakes and there will be moments where we will fumble the ball. All He requires of us, is to take accountability [acceptance of fault] before Him, so that He may be able to forgive us our sins and grant us a clean slate.
–>God says we are UNIQUE.
“For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb.” -Psalm 139:13
–>God created all of us individually. Think of it this way…He is the chef, we are the entree; He knows what He put in each of us, how much of it He put, and exactly how He chose to cook it all up. There is nothing that He doesn’t already know about us because we are his personal craftsmanship; each uniquely designed and created for His purpose.
So, always remember, YOU ARE A CHOSEN CHILD OF GOD WHO IS FORGIVEN AND UNIQUELY MADE!
Interactive Activity: Each child gets assigned one of the scriptures above and is responsible for completing a coloring sheet of that scripture. These sheets will then be collected and added into the child’s individual “Scripture Binder,” which will be held for them for safe keeping until the end of the year. (They will be able to take the contents of their binders home at the end of the year so they can reflect on all they’ve learned during said time.)
